Whether you are for it or against it, everyone has an opinion about our “new normal” quarantine life. I asked each my Senior Reps how they felt about their senior year getting cut short due to the virus. Here’s what Carrie had to say.
Unpopular opinion: I could not have asked for a better senior year.
Looking back at this time in my life, I won’t remember the stress or the testing anxiety. I will smile remembering how I witnessed my community come together in order to help the world be a better place. In all of my years on this planet, I have never seen so many kids playing with their families. It wasn’t until this week I had seen bike riders in Loranger.
Also, the fact that people are willing to be so giving to adopt a child and send them care packages blew my mind earlier this month. Let alone the fact that I was adopted by multiple families! I knew 2020 was a special year, but I never would have assumed it would be because of a pandemic. Although there is some fear during this time, there is also hope, faith, compassion, selflessness, etc.
I have had all of my current teachers and even some of my past teachers reach out to make sure I’m okay. Here’s an answer for everyone asking: I have never been better. Sure, prom and graduation would be nice. however the picture that God has planted in front of me is oh so nicer.
This experience has blessed so many people in so many ways, even if it was just wisdom. so, I will say it again.
I could not have asked for a better senior year.
I love Carrie’s positive outlook! Stay safe everyone!
