Sit back with a cup of coffee and get to know us better through our blog! Feel free to comment so we can get to know you :)
As the year is quickly coming to an end, here’s a few things to make sure you check off your list before taking those steps across the stage!
1. Thank the teachers.
This is obviously the teacher in me, but I think it is oh so important! Even if you have had a bad experience in high school, I can guarantee that someone was looking out for you and truly cared about your well being. If you know who that person was, make sure they know how much you appreciate them! You have no idea how much value your kind words are to them.
2. Go to Prom. Just do it.
Unless the idea of it, absolutely, truly repels you…..go to prom. I didn’t go to my junior year prom because I didn’t think it was that important. And the entire day I sulked. I was so bummed that I robbed myself of going. There was no true reason to not attend, I just didn’t. My senior year I made sure to go and I’m so glad I did. It wasn’t the most magical night for me in any way BUT it was so fun dressing up and living through the experience. Now I’ll never look back and regret it again.
3. Attend a College Welcome Night/Day
Technically, some of these may happen over the summer, but it’s definitely a must do! This was so much fun at Southeastern and I loved every minute of it!
4. Plan a trip
You’ve worked so hard and deserve a break!!! Whether you go with friends or family, make sure you to live it up! I went to Disney World for the very first time as my senior trip and it was AMAZING!!! I felt a little ridiculous standing in a line with 4 year olds to get Belle’s signature….but that’s an entirely different story.
5. Seize the Day
Is there someone you’ve been meaning to talk to but haven’t?? Not to be dramatic, but you may NEVER see them again. Sure there’s Instagram/Snapchat/whatever else but there’s something about talking in person. Get it out now and make sure you leave with no regrets.
6. Create a momento
What’s something special to you from school? A spirit shirt? Soccer ball? Your book sack? Have all of your friends sign it! One of my favorite things (and really the only thing) I still have from high school is my senior year shirt with signatures all over it. I love looking at every now and then and remembering all the good times.
7. Take senior pictures
You had to know this one was coming. I loved getting my pictures taken almost as much as I love taking senior pictures for others now! You deserve to take some time to get all dressed up and focus on the stuff that makes you YOU!
